BELGRADE, July 23 (Hina) - The Serbian government on Monday adopted a draft resolution on Kosovo and sent it to the parliament to discuss it at a session scheduled for Tuesday.

The government also adopted a report on the work of the Serbian negotiating team for talks on Kosovo's future status, also to be discussed by the parliament.

The draft resolution reads that "Kosovo and Metohija are an inalienable part of Serbia and any attempt at solution that would violate the principles of international law will be declared null and void and dangerous for the survival of the state of Serbia".

The document reads that Serbia is ready for a new round of talks, "open-ended in terms of outcome and duration".

The government and state bodies are obligated to respond, timely and decisively, to any attempt or act aimed at violating Serbia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and this particularly refers to threats and possible acts of unilateral recognition of Kosovo's independence, reads the document.

The Serbian government was also bound by the resolution to set up a new negotiating team for talks on Kosovo's status, which are expected to continue.
