40 former DC members join HDZ

DUBROVNIK, June 9 (Hina) - The Minister of Defence and member of the Presidency of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), Berislav Roncevic, on Saturday presented membership cards to 40 former members of the Dubrovnik branch of the Democratic Centre (DC) party who had joined the ruling party.
DUBROVNIK, June 9 (Hina) - The Minister of Defence and member of the Presidency of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), Berislav Roncevic, on Saturday presented membership cards to 40 former members of the Dubrovnik branch of the Democratic Centre (DC) party who had joined the ruling party.

Roncevic said that the HDZ was the strongest political force in Croatia and a party with the best political platform. He said that the party was slowly moving into a pre-election phase, and that it would hold a convention in Zagreb on June 30.

The head of the party's Dubrovnik County branch, Frano Matusic, said that the HDZ was the strongest party in the county and that in the past year it had been joined by 1,000 new members in the Dubrovnik area and 25,000 across the country.
