The head of the Serb List for Kosovo parliamentary group, Randjel Nojkic, said that Nikolic was "a bad choice for Serbia and for all Serbs, particularly those in Kosovo" because the Kosovo status process was still in progress.
The chairman of the Serb National Council for central Kosovo, Dragan Veljic, recalled that the Radical Party and the Socialist Party had caused a lot of misery to the Serbian people, stressing that Nikolic's election would make the participation of the Serbs in decision making processes regarding Kosovo more difficult.
Albanian officials and politicians said that Nikolic's election was Serbia's internal matter, expressing hope that the latest developments in Serbia would not adversely affect the ongoing efforts to resolve Kosovo's status.
