Radio B92 learned from circles close to the European Union that the continued deferral of the agreement could be one of the first signs of the EU's concern about the political situation in Serbia.
The authorities in Belgrade were notified today that the initialling of the agreement was being postponed until later this week or early next week for technical reasons.
Citing well-informed sources, B92 reported that the EU could postpone the initialling of the agreement next week as well and continue rescheduling the procedure until it becomes clear which course Serbia has taken after Monday's session of the national parliament.
The authorities in Belgrade were also notified today that the Council of Europe had decided not to display its flag in front of the Serbian parliament on Saturday to mark the start of Serbia's presidency of the Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers, B92 reported, adding that the decision was made due to the election of Nikolic as parliament speaker.
