President Fatmir Sejdiu said the UN delegation was interested in Kosovars' positions on the province's political and economic stability as well as on minorities, notably regarding the Serb community.
Sejdiu said that he and the negotiating team had offered full guarantees to the Security Council to the effect that Kosovo would offer minorities all rights for inclusion in the Kosovo society.
The leader of the Reformist Party Ora and a member of the negotiating team, Veton Surroi, said the meeting with the UN delegation proved there was no option for Kosovo but the plan drafted by UN special envoy Martti Ahtisaari, which envisages internationally monitored independence.
Earlier today, the 15-member Security Council delegation led by Belgian Ambassador Johan Verbeke held talks with Parliament Speaker Kole Berisha, representatives of parliamentary groups, Prime Minister Agim Ceku and members of the Kosovo government.
