ZAGREB, April 21 (Hina) - Three works of well-known Croatian writer Miro Gavran have been included into a book on plays from 2000 to 2003 published by the German Anton Hiersemann publishing house

The Stuttgart-based company has been publishing selections of the best plays from the entire world for some 30 years.

Gavran's 'Creon's Antigone', 'Night of the Gods' and 'George Washington's Loves' were included in the list in the book about plays from 2000 to 2003 ("Das schauspiel von 2000. bis 2003.").

Apart from Gavran, the book gives summaries also of plays of world-famous playwrights such as Jon Fosse, David Edgar, Peter Handke, Michael Frayn.

Gavran's works have been translated into more than 20 languages. The 46-year-old Gavran is one of the most prolific and frequently performed writers.

He has written some thirty plays and seen more than 120 first nights of his work in Croatia, The Netherlands, the United States, Slovenia, Poland, Bulgaria, Argentina, France, Greece, Hungary, Bosnia-Herzegovina.

He writes novels and also books for young readers.

Gavran has so far won a score of theatre and literary awards.
