Racan's condition is critical and he is fighting for his life. The former SDP leader, who resigned to the post of party president yesterday, was diagnosed with ureteral cancer and had his left kidney, ureter and lymph nodes removed.
None of the SDP leaders wished to speak to the press after returning to the party headquarters.
After some web portals and one radio station incorrectly reported that Racan had died, the SDP appealed to all media editors to wait for official information from the party and not to publish incorrect information. The party said they would continue to inform the public about everything on time.
