ZAGREB, March 19 (Hina) - President Stjepan Mesic, acting in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces, made a decision on dismissals and appointments in the Armed Forces on Monday, based on his constitutional
powers, at the recommendation of the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces and with the consent of the Minister of Defence, the President's Office announced in a statement.
ZAGREB, March 19 (Hina) - President Stjepan Mesic, acting in his
capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces, made a decision on
dismissals and appointments in the Armed Forces on Monday, based on his
constitutional powers, at the recommendation of the Chief of Staff of the Armed
Forces and with the consent of the Minister of Defence, the President's Office
announced in a statement. After a successful four-year term,
General Marijan Marekovic was relieved of his duties as Army Commander and
replaced by his deputy, General Mladen Kruljac.
Vice-Admiral Zdravko Kardum was relieved of his duties as Navy
Commander and replaced by Commodore Ante Urlic, who has up until now served as
naval Chief of Staff.
Major-General Viktor Koprivnjak was relieved of his duties as Air Force
and Air Defence Commander and replaced by Brigadier-General Vlado Bagaric, who
has up until now served as Air Force and Air Defence Chief of Staff.
