HSS president Josip Friscic said that the programme called "The Revival of the Croatian Village" was aimed at ensuring the survival of some 100,000 family-run farms, while the present farming policy enables the survival of only 3,000 household farms.
This must be changed, he said. We must secure land to family-run farms, Friscic said, adding that the idea was also supported by government representatives.
The HSS president said a total of 6.3 billion kuna which accounts to six percent of the state budget would be necessary for the implementation of this project.
