During talks at the government headquarters, the deputy prime minister reaffirmed Turkey's support for Croatia's efforts to join NATO and its application for non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council. He also supported efforts to boost trade between the two countries.
At a meeting in the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, Agency Director Mustafa Korhan presented the Turkish financial system, while Suker described the activities of the Croatian National Bank and the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency.
On Tuesday, Suker met Industry and Trade Minister Ali Coskun. The two ministers agreed on the need for concrete projects in transport, energy, shipbuilding, and the construction of infrastructure, particularly the construction of railway lines and the manufacturing of trams.
Suker visited the Turkish central bank, where he met Deputy Governor Mehmet Yorukoglu, one of Turkey's most influential macroeconomic experts.
Yorokoglu showed an interest in Croatian fiscal and monetary policy successes, and presented the goals of the Turkish central bank towards monetary stability.
The Croatian delegation was also received by the Turkish chief negotiator with the European Union, Ali Babacan, whom Suker informed about the progress of Croatia's talks with the EU.
