Although the trial chamber found that Cermak had violated the provisional release rules, it took into account his cooperation with the tribunal and decided to release him pending trial.
Last month the Zagreb weekly Globus reported that Cermak had violated the provisional release rules three times. At the end of December 2006 Cermak attended a birthday party and a New Year's Eve party in Zagreb, while in January 2007 he attended a skiing race on Mount Sljeme overlooking Zagreb, which Globus documented with photographs.
A trial in the case of Cermak and two other Croatian Army generals, Ante Gotovina and Mladen Markac, is scheduled to open on May 7.
