SDP parliamentarian Milanka Opacic told a news conference in Zagreb on Wednesday that despite warnings about harmful contracts, Branko Vukelic, as chairman of the Brodosplit supervisory board, had persisted in concluding injurious contracts and defended the company's incompetent management.
In this way, damage amounting to six million US dollars has been done to the company and tax payers, Opacic said.
The SDP believes that such conduct by the minister is the reason why foreign investments in Croatia have plummeted and why Croatia has plunged in the global economic freedom rankings by 54 places.
"In parliament we insist on his political responsibility, and we leave it to courts to do their part of the job," Opacic said.
