TORDINCI, Jan 26 (Hina) - Nearly 140,000 dollars have been donated
by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Croatia for the demining of the eastern
Croatian village of Tordinci. The funds will be used for the removal
of land mines near the local primary school.
A cheque for USD 139,636,56 was officially handed to the head of the
Croatian Mine Action Centre, Oto Jungwirth, in Tordinci on Friday.
About 1,044 square kilometres of Croatia's territory are infested with
land mines planted during the Homeland Defence War.
