ANKARA, Jan 25 (Hina) - Croatia's Minister of the Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship, Branko Vukelic, met Turkish Industry and Trade Minister Ali Coskun at the beginning of his visit to Turkey on Thursday.

Vukelic said that the talks focused on expediting the establishment of a task force for industry so that it could start working on joint projects in the wood-processing, textile, food, pharmaceutical and power industries.

The two ministers also discussed the possibility of Turkish companies using the northern Adriatic port of Rijeka to market their products in other European countries and possible Turkish investments in the Croatian tourism sector, as well as the production of vaccine by Croatian companies for the Turkish market.

Vukelic also met representatives of the Union of Turkish Chambers of Foreign Trade and attended a forum on possibilities of economic cooperation and investment.

He said that Turkish business people were interested in cooperation in the shipbuilding industry, in the use of Croatian ports for commodity transport, and in the military industry and the upgrading of railways.

They invited Croatian business people to bid for contracts for the construction and upgrading of Turkish railways and the construction of a tram network in 18 cities.

Minister Coskun confirmed that his country was interested in cooperation in the shipbuilding, power and military industries, as well as in the textile industry, mechanical engineering and the construction industry.

He said that tourism was the most attractive sector for Turkish investors.
