SARAJEVO, Jan 16 (Hina) - British Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Mathew Rycroft said on Tuesday that solving Kosovo's final status would not be linked with the situation in Bosnia.

No parallel line would be drawn between Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kosovo, there would be no division of Bosnia, no referendum on the separation of Republika Srpska from Bosnia-Herzegovina and there would be no Greater Serbia, Rycroft said at a round table debate on Bosnia's bid to join NATO, organised by the Alliance for Security of Bosnia-Herzegovina with the support of the British Embassy in Sarajevo.

Rycroft said this commenting on this week's statements by Serbian PM Vojislav Kostunica and Foreign Minister Vuk Draskovic who said that Serbia could not be deprived of both Kosovo and the Bosnian Serb entity, namely that if Kosovo had the right to independence so did Republika Srpska.

The Bosniak members of the Bosnian collective presidency, Haris Silajdzic, also commented on Kostunica and Draskovic's latest statements, stressing they were part of the election campaign in Serbia. Silajdzic called on the international community to punish those who raise tensions in the region.

The international community's High Representative to Bosnia, Christian Schwartz Schilling, has recently said that the solving of Kosovo's final status would have consequences in Bosnia.
