In the HEP Centre, Mesic was welcomed by the company's CEO, Ivan Mravak, and other managers who acquainted him with HEP development plans in 2007.
Mesic and his hosts also talked about gas supplies and the development of alternative sources of energy.
After the talks Mesic told reporters that he was convinced that the national network for providing power supplies was able to meet needs of the country, and welcomed the HEP plans to build two new power plants.
Mravak said that in 2007 there would be enough supplies to meet the projected growth in the energy consumption and added that there would be no changes in electricity prices.
Last year, Mesic visited Zagreb's emergency hospital during the New Year Eve.
