In response to reporters' questions in Varazdinske Toplice, where she attended a conference of war veterans with the most severe disabilities, Kosor said that she had not heard any concrete proposals as to how to reduce budgetary spending by 5-10 billion kuna.
The premier went on to say that she expected spending in the next two years to be maintained at the level envisaged by the revised budget.
According to her, legislation is being prepared for imposing taxes on real estate such as weekend and holiday houses.
As for the pension reform, Kosor said that overhauling the pension system was a must as the current ratio of employed people and pension beneficiaries (that is, the system dependency ratio) was hardly tenable in the long run.
Raising the normal retirement age is the practice also in other European countries, she added.
