On this occasion, we celebrate and reaffirm the bonds between our countries," Clinton said in the note published by the State Department on Thursday.
"Croatia has made remarkable progress since gaining independence, both in building democracy at home and contributing to regional and global security. The United States is proud to count Croatia as an ally in NATO, and we appreciate Croatia"s vital contributions to the ISAF mission in Afghanistan. We support Croatian membership in the European Union and look forward to working together as partners on a wide range of issues and policies in the coming years."
