OSIJEK, July 2 (Hina) - The leader of the regional HDSSB party and
the prefect of Osijek-Baranja County, Vladimir Sisljagic, has said that
outgoing Prime Minister Ivo Sanader is responsible for "the grave economic
crisis in Croatia, that is faced with bankruptcy, as he has led the government
and the HDZ autocratically". Asked by reporters to comment on
Sanader's unexpected resignation, Sisljagic said on Thursday that Sanader
"could run away with still unclarified reasons" but in any case, he "could not
run away from his liability for the disastrous situation in Croatia".
Sisljagic said that his party, which has three seats in the national
parliament, had not signed a letter of support for the candidacy of Jadranka
Kosor of the Croatian Democratic Union to be the new Prime
Minister-Designate.
Branding Sanader a spin doctor, Sisljagic said that he would not be
surprised if he reversed his decision very soon.
