The government will mainly include ministers who were also in the cabinet of Ivo Sanader, who last Wednesday stepped down from the post of the country's Prime Minister.
Thus, Damir Polancec is nominated for Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister, and Slobodan Uzelac of the Independent Democratic Serb Party (SDSS) for Deputy Prime Minister and Djurdja Adlesic of the Social Liberal Party (HSLS) also for Deputy Prime Minister.
Bozidar Pankretic of the Peasant Party (HSS) is nominated for also for Deputy Prime Minister and for the Minister of Regional Development, Forestry and Water Management.
Also, the ministers of foreign affairs, the interior, justice and of defence will remain Gordan Jandrokovic, Tomislav Karamarko, Ivan Simonovic and Branko Vukelic respectively.
Ivan Suker will fill the post of Finance Minister, Bozidar Kalmeta will asusme the post of Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, Darko Milinovic of Health and Social Welfare Minister, Bozo Biskupic of Culture Minister and Marina Matulovic-Dropulic of Minister of Environment Protection, Zoning and Constructions. They are HDZ officials.
Damir Bajs of HSS will again assume the office of Tourism Minister.
Radovan Fuchs, who was until now a state secretary in the Science and Education Ministry, will replace Dragan Primorac who resigned as Science and Education Minister a few days ago.
The new minister of War Veterans, Family Affairs and Inter-Generational Solidary, at whose helm was Kosor in the Sanader cabinet, will now be Tomislav Ivic.
The Kosor cabinet will get a new ministry, the ministry for public services and administration to be led by Davorin Mlakar. Mlakar was also Administration Minister 1994 to 1998. After that, he was Croatia's ambassador to Japan and South Korea. From 2000 to 2004 he was a senior manager of the Agrokor concern.
Bianca Matkovic enters the new government as minister without portfolio. Until this appointment she was a state secretary in the Croatian Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry. She is a high-ranking official in the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ).
Petar Cobankovic, former minister of regional development, will now be Minister of Agriculture, Fishery and Rural Development.
