Pahor said in a congratulatory letter he hoped her experience would contribute to the advancement of bilateral relations between Slovenia and Croatia and to the settlement of their outstanding issues, according to a brief press release issued by the Slovenian PM's office.
Commenting on the Croatian parliament's vote of confidence in the Kosor cabinet, the Slovenian media emphasised today that Kosor was Croatia's first woman prime minister, and that her term in office would be marked by efforts to solve the serious economic situation, revise the state budget and to step up Croatia's European Union accession negotiations, which have reached a standstill due to a Croatian-Slovenian border row.
The Slovenian media speculate that no headway could be expected in the coming months in the bilateral relations when it comes to the two countries' border dispute.
Slovenian officials have declined to comment on developments in Croatia after Ivo Sanader abruptly stepped down as prime minister last week.
