ZAGREB, June 17 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Ministry State Secretary Davor Bozinovic and the chief national negotiator with the European Union, Vladimir Drobnjak, on Thursday held working consultations with Estonian Foreign Ministry State Secretary Marten Kokk, the Croatian ministry stated in a press release.

Bozinovic and the Estonian official agreed that bilateral relations between their countries were very good, and considered possibilities for their enhancement.

Drobnjak informed Kokk about the state of affairs in Croatia's EU accession negotiations and about Croatia's efforts to open the remaining three unopened negotiating areas by the end of the Spanish EU presidency on 30 June.

Croatia aims to wrap up the accession talks by the end of this year, reads the press release.

Kokk said that Estonia fully supported Croatia's EU membership bid and its speedy progress in the negotiations.

The officials also discussed the situation in the region.

Commenting on the global financial crisis, Bozinovic informed Kokk of Croatia's consolidation of public spending in 2009 and the adoption of recovery measures in 2010.
