OHR's Mostar office closed

Autor: half
MOSTAR, June 10 (Hina) - A ceremony marking the official closure of the regional office of the international community's High Representative (OHR) in Mostar was held on Thursday with High Representative Valentin Inzko calling on the local authorities to assume full responsibility for the future of this southern city in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

"For today, we have reached an important stage post on the journey from conflict and division to peace and integration - today the responsibility for taking this city and this region forward has been placed firmly in your hands," Inzko said at the ceremony of shutting down the OHR South Office in Mostar.

Three staffers from OHR South Office will continue working with the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) mission in Mostar.

In 1994 the European Union established international administration in that city, which had been divided during a Croat-Muslim armed conflict. The OHR opened its branch office there in 1997.
