Croatian gov't adopts road map for implementation of economic recovery plan

Autor: mses
ZAGREB, May 6 (Hina) - The Croatian government on Thursday adopted a road map for the implementation of its Economic Recovery Programme, which is available on the government's web site.

"Every citizen can now see how the road map is being implemented and what the government is doing," Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor said at the government's meeting today.

The road map elaborates relevant measures and deadlines which Kosor said must be met without delay.

The largest number of measures will have to be carried out by the end of this year.

The PM said that in the next two months the government would make preparations for the adoption of legislation on fiscal responsibility by November.

The government will set up a working group to draw up a strategy for public debt management.

A registry of public sector employees will be compiled as well, according to Kosor.

The government will prepare legislation regulating the obligation to give a declaration on having no tax debts when establishing a new company or business.

When it comes to insolvency of legal entities, 60 percent of those entities with liabilities in arrears have no employees, Kosor said.

She said the government would soon present a programme designed to facilitate the operation of small and medium-sized businesses.

The premier said that the state budget would very likely be revised in July, as a step aimed at reducing budget expenditures.

Kosor expressed satisfaction with the fact that some of the measures from the economic recovery plan had already been implemented.

"All the measures we are adopting through this road map will eventually lead to the strengthening of the Croatian economy, job creation and recovery from the crisis," she said.
