SIBENIK, Jan 20 (Hina) - The port authority office of Sibenik fined Zdenko Radic, the Marko Polo ferry captain, with HRK 4,000 for negligence in navigating the ferry when it got stranded on the islet of Sit while passing through the Rivanjski Kanal channel on 24 October 2009. The vessel was being manually steered during its passage through that strait, and the captain should have steered it personally, but failed to be in the wheel-house.
