SYRIA CONFLICTS IDLIB
epa09317100 Activists and workers from civil society, humanitarian and medical aid organizations hold banners as they form a human chain calling on international community to maintain the cross-border humanitarian corridor, at the Bab Al-Hawa border crossing, Idlib, Syria, 02 July 2021. A US Security Council resolution adopted in July 2014 and renewed annually to allow UN humanitarian agencies and their partners to dispatch humanitarian aid into the Syrian territory without the prior authorization will expire on 10 July 2021 and Council members need to vote on its renewal. The crossing post of Bab Al-Hawa, at the Turkish, is the only operational crossing point, and according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) nearly 1,000 UN trucks route through the humanitarian corridor each month to deliver needed aid material.
