Croatia has been invited as an honorary guest in the Adriatic culture section and the Split-based Cronaves maritime association has been selected to represent Croatia.
Croatia will present ships from the north to south of the Adriatic Sea, Cronaves president, Plamenko Bavcevic said.
Many associations that nurture traditional shipbuilding have expressed interest in participating in the festival however, once again finances are in question.
The entire story about our Croatian expedition will cost HRK 350,000 but this will be an opportunity to present our shipbuilding, gastronomy and tourism, Bavcevic explained.
Sailing boats and sailors from all over the world are expected to attend the festival including Italy, Spain and Croatia as well as large sail boats from Germany, The Netherlands and Great Britain, which are always the greatest attraction for the public.
The maritime festival in Sete, the largest Mediterranean fishing port, will attract 120 traditional vessels. The festival in Sete was launched in 2010 and is held every other year and is slowly taking the fore compared to its predecessor and better known festival held in Brest, France.
