The first project concerns upgrading the meteorological monitoring network in Croatia - Metmonic - valued at almost HRK 344 million, 85% of which is to be provided by EU funds and 15% from the Environment Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund.
The second project, AIRQ, will expand and upgrade the state's network for permanent monitoring of air quality. This project is valued at HRK 125 million, 106 million of which is to come from EU funds.
The DHMZ is important with regard to adapting to climate change and is of the greatest use for the ministry, Minister Coric said.
Extreme events of the past few years compel us to think about long term solutions, he said and added that the ministry has to keep an eye on the consequences of climate change and global warming, claiming that the strategy for adapting to climate change is his ministry's and government's key document.
