The refugees make up seven multi-member families who have undergone cultural orientation and will immediately begin the process of integration into Croatian society, the Interior Ministry said on Wednesday, adding that the families chose Croatia as the country in which they wanted to live and saw the future of their children.
For the first four to six weeks, the families will be accommodated at the asylum seekers reception centre in Kutina, after which they will be provided lasting individual accommodation.
The ministry's partner in the resettlement project is the Croatian office of the International Organisation for Migration.
Croatia has committed to taking in 150 citizens of third countries or persons without citizenship by the end of this year.
