The events for Theatre Night will take place in some 70 venues, and the number of institutions and individuals taking part in this programme has risen by 8.7% in comparison to Theatre Night held on 19 November last year, said one of organisers at a news conference in Zagreb on Tuesday.
The organisers are particularly happy that towns and municipalities with undeveloped theatre infrastructures have been engaged in Theatre Night.
Information and schedules of plays are available at www.noc-kazalista.com.
The event is held as part of European Theatre Night which is an annual one-day event that takes place every third Saturday in November.
A majority of plays and events during the European Theatre Night are free of charge or tickets are sold at affordable prices.
Apart from Croatia, also institutions in six countries -- Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovakia -- joined this initiative.
Last year's Theatre Night was held in 46 Croatian cities and towns in which approximately 38,000 people saw 145 shows.
