In Zagreb, the festival will be opened on Sunday by one of the most prominent contemporary authors from German-speaking countries, Daniel Kehlmann, while the programme in Split will be opened by the Italian writing couple Monaldi & Sorti.
The festival is organised by the Fraktura publishing house and will comprise some 60 events, including concerts, workshops and an exhibition. One of the partners is the Austrian Cultural Forum Zagreb and the focus on literature from German-speaking countries is part of the year of Austrian-Croatian cultural cooperation.
The festival includes a film programme focusing on Germany, organised in cooperation with the Goethe Institute Croatia.
The authors that will attend the festival include Manfred Mittermayer, Marjana Gaponenko, Richard Schuberth, Philippe Claudel, Eduardo Halfon, Chigozie Obioma, Dubravka Ugresic, Ognjen Spahic, Damir Karakas, Milana Vukovic Runjic, Ivana Rogar, Kristian Novak, Boris Dezulovic, Tuomas Kyro, Ulli Lust, Ales Steger, Olja Savicevic Ivancevic, Franjo Janes, Pavao Pavlicic, and Marina Vujcic.
