These festival opens with the Libertas flag-raising ceremony, said the festival's artistic director, Mladen Tarbuk.
"Dubrovnik is fundamentally a city of culture," he said.
The festival's director, Ivana Medo Bogdanovic, said that the event's budget stood at HRK 12.2 million. Of that amount, HRK 8.5 million is from public funding, about HRK 2 million will come from entry tickets, and sponsors have provided HRK 1.6 million. The City of Dubrovnik has provided an additional HRK 200,000 for investments in a bid boost the festival business aspect, she said.
