At the opening ceremony in Zagreb's Kaptol Boutique Cinema, Mayor Milan Bandic said that the highest value of ZagrebDox "is its contribution to the strengthening of Croatian film production and promotion of international cooperation."
The mayor thanked the festival's organisers for charting Zagreb on a map of excellence concerning culture in this part of Europe.
In attendance at the opening ceremony were Culture Minister Nina Obuljen Korzinek and representatives of foreign embassies in Zagreb as well as some other distinguished guests.
ZagrebDox "stretches across eight days and includes 15 programmes with over 120 documentaries from all over the world. Every day, the audience will have a chance to follow the exciting race for the festival awards, the Big Stamps, with 42 titles competing – 21 in International and 21 in Regional Competition," according to the information on the festival's website.
