"Plenty of fun, excellent food, unique events, art, but also a genuine Christmas atmosphere, await you on the streets of Croatia's capital," reads the invitation letter posted on the web site of the Zagreb Tourism Board office.
The local office's director, Martina Biennenfeld, said at a recent news conference that the programme would be expanded to ten new locations around town including the Upper Town and across the river in the Novi Zagreb suburbs.
"This year we will endeavour to defend our title of the best European Advent destination and with the assistance of numerous partners from the private and public sectors, we have prepared new content in addition to that already existing," Biennenfeld said.
We hope that figures for this December will be greater than during last year's (Advent season) when 70,500 visitors visited Zagreb and generated 124,000 overnight stays, she added.
Biennenfeld has told Hina that expectations of the spending are even higher this year compared to last year when tourists on average spent 123 euro per day or a total of HRK 15 million.
