In the period from January to August 2016, a total of 32,330 vehicles were sold, which was 5,702 vehicles more than in the first eight months of 2015. In August alone, 636 more vehicles were sold than in August last year.

In the so-called premium segment, 107 Audis, 69 BMWs, 57 Mercedeses, four Porsches and six Jaguars were sold. However, none of the luxury brands were sold, such as Maserati or Tesla.

Broken down by model, the best selling was the VW Golf with 135 units sold, followed by the Suzuki Vitara (116), the Seat Leon (93), the VW Passat (88) and the Dacia Logan (85).

In the first eight months of the year, VW sold 4,510 new cars in Croatia, capturing 13.9% of the market. Opel sold 3,385 units (10.5%), Renault 2,801 (8.7%), Skoda 2,541 (7.9%) and Ford 2,461 (7.6%).

Of the 32,300 vehicles sold in the January-August period, 18,352 or 56.8 were diesel-powered, 13,436 or 41.6% were fuelled by petrol, while vehicles using alternative fuels accounted for less than 2%.
