Croatia's Q1 FDI jumps 27.1% to EUR 503 mn

ZAGREB, July 14 (Hina) - Foreign direct investment (FDI) in Croatia in the first three months of 2016 came to EUR 503 million, which was an increase of 107.4 million or 27.1% compared to the corresponding period in 2015, according to the preliminary figures released by the Croatian National Bank (HNB).

"Following a marked drop in FDI last year of a nearly 86%, Q1 2016 registered a certain recovery, with a record high amount of FDI since Q2 2014," Raiffeisenbank Austria (RBA) analysts have said in their comment.

In Q1 2016, FDI made by Austrian investors came to 184 million euros, making up a 36.5% share in the total amount of FDI in Q1 this year.

Investments from Luxembourg made up a 27.6% share (139 million euros), while Germany's investments accounted for 10%, (49.3 million euros).

In the period from 1993 through Q1 2016, FDI in Croatia totalled EUR 29.6 billion.
