Burilovic thanked Eurochambres for its support to the HGK's efforts to maintain its reputation and continuity, saying that in the past two years the HGK had been exposed to the questioning of its purpose and survival.
He stressed that the current political developments in Croatia were an additional reason why chambers of commerce must have a strong role in strengthening the economy given their role as factors of stability and providers of strong support to companies in their business operations.
The HGK will continue being a partner to the business sector and in that it expects support from Eurochambres, both at the national and EU level, he said.
Digital economy is one of the lanes chambers of commerce should pursue, he said, adding that chambers of commerce must create a digital platform that will facilitate business operations, notably of small and medium companies.
The annual congress of Eurochambres brought together presidents and directors of European national chambers of commerce from some 30 countries, its main topic being digital chambers of commerce in the service of digital economy.
Eurochambres' mission is to promote a favourable and competitive business environment in Europe and beyond.
The HGK has been a member of Eurochambres since October 2000.
