Naftalan is the only hospital in Europe and one of the few in the world to provide treatment for skin and inflammatory rheumatic diseases using a unique natural resource - naftalan mineral oil.
The Finnish associations have over 37,000 members. Their representatives visited Croatia at the recommendation of the Finnish public health insurance fund.
The Buy Croatia initiative, supported by the Croatian Tourism Board, organises business workshops and meetings for tourism professionals from home and abroad to acquaint them with quality tourism products and destinations in Croatia.
Naftalan CEO Goran Maricic said he was pleased with the interest shown in the hospital, adding that their aim was to arrange cooperation with public health insurers in all Scandinavian countries to ensure that as many patients from those countries as possible came to Ivanic Grad for treatment. Every year for the past ten years, organised groups of patients from Denmark come to Naftalan for treatment, he added.
Naftalan is a therapeutic mineral oil that is commercially used in medicine only in Azerbaijan and Ivanic Grad. In Ivanic Grad, located about 40 kilometres east of Zagreb, it has been successfully used for more than 25 years in the treatment of skin diseases, in particular psoriasis and neurodermatitis, joint inflammation processes such as arthritis, burns and in post-surgical rehabilitation.
