Of the total number of foreign tourists who visited Croatia last year by arrangement with Croatian travel agencies, most came from Germany: 546,400 or 27.3%, which was 8% more than in 2014. They also generated the largest number of bed-nights: 31.5% or 4.2 million, which was 9.3% more than in 2014.
The Germans were followed by British tourists (9.8% bed-nights), Italians (6.6%), Czechs (6.4%), Austrians and Poles (both 6%), Slovenians (4.5%) and the French (4%).
Increases were observed in the number of bed-nights generated by German, Slovenian, British and Austrian tourists, while bed-nights generated by other tourists recorded decreases in number. Large decreases were recorded among Polish and French tourists, of 17% and 10% respectively.
The largest decrease in the number of bed-nights was recorded among Russian tourists, of as much as 54%, as only 18,200 visited Croatia through Croatian travel agencies in 2015, down 51%.
