Data from the national bureau of statistics (DZS) show that the number of workers in the manufacturing industry was down 0.8% on the month, the number of workers in the mining industry dropped 0.4% and the number of workers in the electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply sector dropped 0.1%.
On the year, the number of workers in the manufacturing industry, which employs 90.82% of all workers in the industrial sector, dropped by 0.2%. The number of workers in the mining industry dropped 5.1% on the year and the number of those working in the electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply sector dropped 1.7%.
Labour productivity data, however, show that productivity in the manufacturing sector grew by 4.2% on the year.
Productivity in the mining sector increased 10.9%, and in the electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply sector it dropped 4.4%.
The number of workers in the industrial sector in 2015 was 0.6% down from the previous year while labour productivity was up 3.3%.
