ZAGREB, Nov 3 (Hina) - Norway ranks for the seventh year as the top country in terms of prosperity and well-being, and Croatia ranks 53rd, said the UK's Legatum Institute which has published the global Prosperity Index since 2009.
The annual Legatum Prosperity Index ranks 142 countries across eight categories: the Economy, Entrepreneurship & Opportunity; Governance; Education; Health; Safety & Security; Personal Freedom; and Social Capital.

Switzerland has been ranked second for the third consecutive year and Denmark has climbed one place to position No. 3 from last year.

Compared with 2014, Croatia is three places down. It is best ranked in Health, 39th, and it is worst ranked in Social Capital, 120th. It is placed 64th in the Economy and 51st in Entrepreneurship and Opportunity.

The Social Capital category includes donation of money for charity, helping foreigners and volunteering.

Of the neighbouring countries, Slovenia is ranked 25th, Italy 37th, Hungary 45th, Montenegro 60th, Serbia 73rd and Bosnia and Herzegovina 86th.

The top ten countries, aside from Norway, Switzerland and Denmark, are New Zealand, Sweden, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, Finland and Ireland.
