Delegations of top state authorities held wreath-laying ceremonies in Zagreb's central cemetery of Mirogoj on Sunday morning, and wreaths were laid by delegations of state and local authorities in Vukovar and other formerly war- stricken areas.
Masses for the dead are being said all the day, and the central religious ceremony is scheduled for 1600 hrs when the Archbishop of Zagreb, Cardinal Josip Bozanic, is due to say the mass in the Christ the King church in Mirogoj Cemetery.
All Souls' Day on 2 November, that follows All Saints' Day, will also be observed by Croatians with attendances at masses and religious rites and visits to graveyards, cemeteries and sites of mass suffering and death in the Second World War and in the Homeland Defence War.
