European Heritage Days is organised by the Ministry of Culture's Directorate for the Protection of Cultural Heritage. The ministry has issued the publication "European Heritage Days 2015" with detailed information on all events that will take place throughout the country, including venues, dates and times.
By agreeing on the common theme - Industrial and Technical Heritage - most of the Council of Europe countries aim to raise public awareness of the importance of industrial and technical heritage and its preservation, organisers said.
The purpose of European Heritage Days is to establish closer ties between European countries through cultural and historical values as the common heritage of the European continent, raise public awareness of Europe's cultural diversity, promote the sense of identity and unity of Europeans, and encourage Europe to face new social, political and economic challenges.
