SUBOTICA, Aug 19
(Hina) - The participation of the Croat association
"Srijem" from the northern Serbian province of Vojvodina in a cultural
event in Smederevo, a town near Belgrade, has been cancelled and the
local Croat minority believes this has to do with the latest changes
of the statute of the eastern Croatian city of Vukovar which do not
envisage bilingual, Latin-Cyrillic signs, on city institutions and in
the city's streets and squares.
