Kovacevic underscored that there were 15% more guests at the Ultra Festival this year compared to last year and 60% less incidents reported, he said.
He said that Split had from the start recognised the importance of that festival and hoped that next year's, which will be held a little later than usual due to the football championships, would be even more successful.
The fact that the festival was extended to last the entire week and travel to Hvar, Brac and Vis was shown to be a good decision, the festival's organiser Joe Basic said. "People have something to see here, beautiful beaches, historical monuments, great sunshine which is better than most other places where festivals are held. All these advantages...will soon make the festival in Split to be one of the largest in the world," he said.
The Festival has contributed to a 21% increase in tourist arrivals and bed nights in Split, the director of the Split Tourist Board Alijana Vuksic said.
