It was the first of the two tankers of the same characteristics for the Swedish company Wisby Tankers. The launch was attended by Economy Minister Ivan Vrdoljak.
The Palanca Rio is 133 metres long and 23 metres wide, and its main engine will be built at the shipyard's Engines and Cranes factory. The contract was signed in May 2014.
The shipyard plans three launches this year.
