Up to 98% of the respondents are prepared to move because of work, with 48% being prepared to move within Croatia and 47% only willing to move abroad. However, 59% haven't sent even one application abroad.
Employed people are more willing to move, or 99% compared to 97% of people who are unemployed. Those with higher qualifications are also more prepared to move, or 65% compared with 41% with lower qualifications.
Of those willing to move, one in three could pack their bags immediately, while 44% could move within a month's time. Eleven percent would need three months to get ready, while 10% would need more time.
Even though the majority of people would like to work abroad, as many as 59% have not applied for one job abroad. One-third have sent an application but received no feedback, while 10% received a response from employers.
More men apply for jobs abroad (47%) than women (36%).
Almost half or 44% of respondents would like any sort of job contract, whereas 24% would want a full-time job for an indefinite period, and 32% would accept a temporary job.
The most important criteria in job hunting is a good salary, followed by the working environment, employment conditions and benefits, and the possibility of career development.
More than half the respondents would return to Croatia if they could find a better offer, a little more than a third would not return and only eight percent would return to any job they could find in Croatia.
Most would like to work in Europe or 90%, 38% would migrate to North America or Australia, 14% would migrate to South America and only a few would migrate to Asia or Africa.
Germany is still the "promised land" for most Croats, followed by Australia and the USA.
