KARLOVAC, April 10
(Hina) - Tomislav Karamarko, leader of the
strongest opposition party, the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), said
on Thursday that the government's decision not to accept a
constitutional bill that would regulate the rights of veterans of the
1991-95 Homeland War and send it to parliament for consideration was
yet another sign that the government did not understand the veterans'
main demands and ignored their problems, which, he said, was "an ugly
way to treat people who saved Croatia from occupation and from being
carved up."
