The main topic of the talks between the premiers, Werner Faymann of Austria, Miro Cerar of Slovenia and Zoran Milanovic of Croatia will be the energy sector and gas supplies against a backdrop of the ongoing crisis in Ukraine and plans to build an LNG terminal on the Croatian island of Krk.
The Vice President of the European Commission, in charge of Energy Union, Maros Sefcovic, will also attend the Schladming summit meeting, the Office of the Slovenian premier said in a press release on Thursday.
The first trilateral meeting of this kind was held in Graz in 2013 after Croatia joined the European Union. The venue of the second trilateral meeting was the Slovenian mountain resort of Brdo Pri Kranju in June 2014 and the three heads of state met in the Croatian Adriatic resort of Opatija in December 2014.
