ZAGREB, March 25 (Hina) - The average price of new flats in Croatia last year amounted to HRK 11,161 per square metre which is 4.7% or HRK 499 higher compared with 2013, the State Bureau of Statistics (DZS) has reported.

Commenting on the latest figures, the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK) has assessed that the real estate market in Croatia is gradually stabilising but is still recording a low turnover and no significant growth can be expected due to the stagnation of economic activity, high level of indebtedness of citizens and slow changes on the labour market.

According to DZS, the average price of a new flat in Zagreb last year was HRK 11,958 or 7.7% higher year on year.

If these figures take into account state subsidised flats, the so-called POS flats, the average price was HRK 10,524 per square metres which is 0.9% higher y-on-y.

The average price of POS flats last year was HRK 7,567 per square metre or 7.3% more on the year.

DZS figures indicate that 2,410 new flats were sold in 2014 in Croatia and almost every second flat was in Zagreb (47%) or 1,128.
